Tuition

Tuition is paid by the year. Students/parents can choose to make payment in one installment, or four installments at designated dates throughout the year.

Tuition covers not only the actual lesson time spent with the students, but time preparing for each student as well. This includes individualized plans for each student, development of teaching materials, repertoire planning, and RCM examinations/festivals/competitions preparation. Tuition also includes studio recital fees in which students are encouraged to participate.

Tuition covers 40 weeks of instructions for the year, from September 2024 to August 2025. Only 38 weeks of the tuition will be charged. This will allow two flex lessons for each student to miss due to unexpected circumstances. Missed lessons outside of the two flex lessons will not be made up. If I must cancel lessons, I will give make-up lessons sometime during the year.

Please fill out the form below to inquire about tuition rate and payment schedule

You may pay by cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo (online payment). There are no refunds or credits given. There is a $100 late fee for payments received 5 or more days late.
New students may begin lessons at any time during the year. Tuition is pro-rated.

Swap List
Swap list is useful for unexpected lesson cancellations. This is distributed via email at the beginning of each semester. Parents and students may choose to opt-in or opt-out to allow their contact information and lesson time to be shared with other parents and students for the purpose of scheduling a swap. Please follow the swap list rules to ensure that the processing of swapping lessons is smooth for everyone:

  1. Only swap lesson with another student with lesson of the same length.

  2. The parent and or student who arranges the swap must email me with the details of the swap and cc the person with whom they are making the swap.

  3. Should 2 students arrive at once, the student whose lesson is regularly scheduled during that time slot will get first priority.

Royal Conservatory of Music

The Royal Conservatory examinations provide a national standard for students, parents and teachers to track and measure progress and achievements. Preparing for and successfully completing an examination builds self-confidence and helps students develop a sense of pride. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the examinations when ready. Find more information here: https://www.rcmusic.com/learning/examinations Festivals/Competitions

Festivals/Competitions/Tests

There are numerous opportunities for students to perform and be evaluated through festivals and competitions hosted by the Seattle and Eastside Music Teachers Association. When planned and prepared for appropriately, they can provide goals, challenges, and motivation in which the students can enjoy and develop their skills. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in these events when ready.
